San Cayetano Ridge (SCR) Hump 1:

Dave Patterson and Johannes Schweiger pioneered a new hike-up launch in Fillmore
Hump 1 is along Santa Cayetano Ridge on the ocean (west) side of the Sespe.
The motivation was to expand our envelope, enabling flights in more east wind than is practical from the Oat Mountain side of the Sespe

Nordhoff Peak Report:  Logan hiked up and launched from Nordhoff Peak

Sage Report:  Posted to the SBSA Telegram Chat by Jochen Frey on Sunday 3/27/2022 at 9:14 AM

I was at Sage yesterday from about 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Around 4:30, the winds at the bottom seemed southerly, even with a bit of east in it, gusting to the high teens. It mellowed out a bit so I started hiking 5 pm. Up on the hill, around 6 pm it was 8g15 due West. This may have been prime conditions, but I chose not to launch since it was on the strong side (for me), my first time up there and no other pilots around. When I got back down, around 6:45 pm, winds in The Valley / LZ were maybe 5g8 south west.

I got to say, it’s beautiful up there.
