Skyport to EJ to Fillmore

I had no idea the day was going to produce so well. I  thought we were landing at Parma or at most Carp.  I came out from Santa Paula peak below ridge height and thought my glide was good enough only to make it to Fillmore but not connect at a decent height with the mtns on the other side.  But the glide was incredible.  I got over my landing area at 2000 ft so I decided to keep cruising.  Then realized I had enough altitude to go back into the hill and try to get back up, which is what I should have done immediately.  Then I didn’t really find any good lift and was starting to get lowish so I went out to land.... but again it was sooo boaty over town. It’s funny you (Tom Truax) saying it looked like I had a motor going upwind- it felt like a light glass off with the amount of widespread lift.  I kept on extending where I was going to land, and finally was very happy when I made it to the grass.  I was constantly thinking I don’t have the glide for that, but then it just kept working out
