Making it to Ojai was my goal of this season, and I'm so thrilled to have made it.  My attempt last year got stopped short by winds just kinda tearing the lift apart, and so today I made a conscious effort to get down range as soon as possible before things got too windy.  That being said I don't feel like I rushed at all - I made sure to get established and stay established.  Cracka's vids were such a massive help in making this happen for me, along with all the other support from the SB flying community.

I think today the key was to get down range early, but also not get too low at any point.  The vast majority of my climbs in the second half seemed to improve over time.  From talking to other pilots who were in the same area, it definitely seems like it was so much easier once you were above the main triggers and managed to stay there.  Was definitely active air in some parts - and got pushed from all directions as the day went along - even had some weird spots where I was feeling the north break through.  I was surprised at how windy and active the Ojai valley was - really that was the only part of the flight I felt on edge - took a decent asymmetric collapse while circling the lz, and found some layers a few hundred feet over the ground had wind blowing close to trim speed.  Other than that it was really just "easy days" as Cracka says!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this possible, and big thanks to Chris G for the retrieve from Carp to Parma.
