A fun filled day with old Topa Chase and the Kids.
The initial crew included Tess and her friend Lucy, Lucy's brother Max, Tess's brother Sam and me (Tess and Sam's dad). We met up with Tyler and his mom Tina at the Santa Barbara airport in the afternoon. We departed Carpinteria with 5 bikes and other assorted gear in Topa Chase. The first stop was Tess's weekly horse riding lesson at Ridgewood Farm before getting the bikes out at Goleta Beach. A short uphill ride to UCSB to check out the Jugglers Festival in the Robertson Gym at. The kids tried out various toys, plus we brought our Frisbees. We had some time to kill after the Festival, so we toured the campus on bikes before heading back downhill to the truck. We got in line for the B-17 Bomber just before they opened and we're one of the first through the gate. Fueled the kids at McDonalds on Fairview before heading over to the training hill at Elings for some paragliding.
Everyone enjoyed the day, but a mishap at the end occurred when the boys rode their bikes down from launch at Elings. I didn't see the spill, but reportedly Max got going too fast on the dirt road and lost control at the bottom, so we had to return him home wounded.
The photos are all reduced in size to 960 pixels wide or less. If there are any photos you want to keep or print, let me know the file name and I'll send you the full size high resolution uncompressed version. I posted more photos than I normally would because most of the group shots have an issue with at least someone, so different moms will prefer different photos.
