off launch. Chris and I got to 4500, Bart hit 5k. Saw Truax cruising East bound

Good morning Tom,
The Owens was good for the cross country league. We flew Paiute each day.
Oddly the lapse rate was absolutely zero from valley floor to Paiute launch.
The tasks were made short because of this but the flying was actually very good
in spite of the lapse rate. The result was that each task was less than 2 hours
with the final days task from Paiute to Benton being completed in under an hour
by the leader ( I came in third ! ).
Last weekend I was back in the Owens and got 1 short flight from Paiute to
Flynns experiencing north winds above 8k, south winds below 7.5k and mild shear
turb ( i assume ) in between. I was hoping for some convergence there but
couldn't figure it out. The next day I flew my speed wing off Flynn's for a
sledder. The next day the whole crew went to Walts and the wholecrew sunk out.
